My heart did a little stutter this morning as I read this post over at The Bookshelves of Doom. While anthropomorphized books in general aren't exactly my cup of tea, Brian Jaques' Red Wall series hold a special place in my heart. My fifth grade teacher Ms. McGuire read these books out loud to my class every day. It was one of the first times I can remember being enveloped by the power of books. I remember our class would get so caught up in the story and characters, we would beg Ms. McGuire for one more chapter--just one more every time she went to close the book. He was such a great author and will be sorely missed by many, Rest in Peace.
